Climate is what we expect, weather is what we get
Those new regions which we found and explored with the fleet... we may rightly call a New World... a continent more densely peopled and abounding in animals than our Europe or Asia or Africa; and, in addition, a climate milder than in any other region known to us.
Some people call it global warming; some people call it climate change.

Only by taking action now can we ensure that future generations will not be put at risk.
Statement by 49 Nobel Prize winners

We're using more fossil fuels.
We're putting more CO2 in the air.
The coal plants are running at record levels. Business has never been better.
We're doing great!

If it were only a few degrees, that would be serious, but we could adapt to it.
But the danger is the warming process might be unstable and run away. We could end up like Venus, covered in clouds and with the surface temperature of 400 degrees.
It could be too late if we wait until the bad effects of warming become obvious.
We need action now to reduce emission of carbon dioxide.
